Make a Tilly Grilly for the kids!
Frying brats is really an adult thing (as you see from this website) that presupposes utmost maturity of mind. The end results can be unforgiving to those who, unlike us grown-ups, tend to be forgetful or un-focused, such as the younger youth. Nevertheless, teaching kids the art of the Brat Fry at an early age builds character and hones valuable skills for later adulthoood, such as attention for detail, team spirit, and an appreciation for the good life. (It also teaches them to respect fire and the personal benefits to them of not burning down the neighbor's garage.) So why not get the kids involved and have them build their own Tilly Grilly for their very own Brat Fry picnic!
Named after BratFry Ferg's Great Aunt Tilly who designed it, this is a nice way to introduce kids to the fun of grilling on their very own grill. You'll probably want to start by teaching them how to grill hot dogs first, and leave the brats for when they grow up a bit.
To build a Tilly Grilly, this is all you need: 1) a large coffee can, 2) a church key, and 3) a bit of chicken wire.
And of course, you're gonna make sure your kids don't poke, cut or burn themselves, right?
